  • ACTT PSYCHIATRIST(MORGANTON, NC)
    • Seeking a Psychiatrist in Morganton, North Carolina to work as part of an Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT). The person must be a qualified psychiatrist, who will be able to provide services to adults with serious mental illness or serious and persistent mental illness. This person will be expected to see individuals for assessment and treatment of his or her symptoms. The psychiatrist would be a part of a collaborative team where they would work with the team to develop and implement medication administration policies and procedures as well as overseeing the medical care of individuals, this includes regular screenings for medical conditions and assessments of wellness and health management. .

    • Seeking a licensed or provisionally licensed individual, preferred LCAS to serve as a member of a large ACT Team. Experience in providing treatment to adults with severe & persistent mental illness and substance abuse disorders preferred. Responsibilities would include performing screenings, intakes and all assessments in a timely manner, maintaining charts and all clinical documentation on a daily basis, and the ability to engage clients in all aspects of their lives.

This individual will be responsible for carrying a case load of twelve children and will oversee case management functions for these consumers. Ongoing communication with consumers and their families will be a key component of this position along with providing educational and therapeutic support. We are looking for an individual who will advocate on behalf of the wellbeing of our consumers. Prior experience with the child mental health population is preferred.

  • DIRECT CARE STAFF (MARION, NC)
    • Impact the lives of youth in Western North Carolina by providing direct supervision for children and adolescents in our new Respite Care Facility located in Marion. Direct Care Staff provide caregivers and their children with that extra layer of support by allowing breaks in care. A Caring Alternative is currently seeking a full-time Direct Care Staff to work in Marion, NC providing person-centered focused services that respond to the need of children and their caregivers. As a Direct Care Staff, you will provide emotional, physical and daily living care for youths (ages 6-20) with behavioral health needs in a group home setting. Must be kind, patient, reliable and dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children. Experience is helpful, but we will train the right candidate. This role requires documenting the day-to-day functioning of the child, provides support based on identified goals of the child, and teaching/reinforcing daily living and relationship skills. QUALIFICATIONS A strong desire to work with children and adolescents, patience, and the ability to work as part of a team is a must! A high school diploma or GED is required. Applicants need to be minimum 21 years old. Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to work in a high pressure, high stress environment. Behavioral health experience is preferred.

    • Mental Health Child QP status required. Must have two year of documented experience with the child mental health population. This service includes but is not limited to crisis management, intensive case management, individual and/or family therapy and skills training in the child's natural environment to provide services to children with mental illness.
    • Must be willing to travel and provide services both in the community and in the client’s residence.

    • Individuals licensed or interested in becoming licensed in order to provide Therapeutic Foster Care within their home. Individuals must be 21 years or older and have GED/High School Diploma. All TFC Parents must have a desire & commitment to help provide a loving home environment. A Caring Alternative will assist with the necessary support & supervision so that the home will be successful in providing a stabilized environment to the child(ren). We will provide the required MAPP course, free of charge, to qualified applicants in addition to other helpful trainings.
