We provide an array services to Alexander, Buncombe, Burke, Catawba, Caldwell, and McDowell Counties, which consist of Assisted Family Living, Assertive Community Treatment Team, Community Support Team, Day Treatment, Integrated Care, Intensive In-Home, Medication Management, Outpatient Therapy, and Therapeutic Foster Care. 

 

We are CARF accredited and CABHA certified.

We are currently seeking to fill the following positions within the agency:

     

  • ADULT SERVICES DIRECTOR - MORGANTON, NC
    • Seeking an Adult Services Director to oversee services in Morgnaton, North Carolina. The Adult Services Director oversees all services provided for assigned departments and provides supervision to all staff within those departments. This position is responsible for developing and monitoring the implementation of department programs.
    • Required: Bachelors degree in Special Education, Psychology, Sociol Work, or Closely Related Human Services. Four (4) years post-degree professional experience with the adult mental health populatio. Two (2) years supervisory experience within mental health services 
    • Preferred: Masters Degree and current NC Licensure as LCSW, LCSWA, LPC, LPCA, LCAS, LCASA, LMFT, LMFTA

    • Seeking a full time Substance Abuse Counselor to work as a member of an established Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Morganton, North Carolina. ACTT is a team dedicated to reducing and eliminating the symptoms of severe mental illness and to enhance the individuals quality of life

    • Seeking a full-time Medical Records Coordinator to fill a vacancy in Morganton, NC. The responsibilities of the Medical Records Coordinator involve making certain that consumer data is being compiled, updated, and organized accurately in compliance with regulations.
    • Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 year clerical experience in behavioral health or healthcare facility.
  • CRITICAL TIME INTERVENTION QP - MORGANTON, NC     
    • A Caring Alternative is seeking a full time Qualified Professional to work with adults as a part of it's Critical Time Intervention team. Critical Time Intervention (CTI) is a time-limited intensive case management model designed to assist adults age 18 years and older with mental illness who are going through critical transitions, and who have functional impairments which preclude them from managing their transitional need adequately. CTI promotes a focus on recovery, psychiatric & physical rehabilitation, and full community inclusion.

  • SCHOOL BASED CLINICIAN - SPRUCE PINE, NC and ASHEVILLE, NC
    • Seeking two full-time licensed professional or provisionally licensed professional to provide intensive therapeutic services to youth who have identified behavioral health symptoms. This position is embedded within an academic setting. One individual is needed to work within the Mitchell County School System while the other position is located within the Buncombe County School System.
    • Must have NC Licensure as an LCSW, LCSWA, LPC, LPCA, LCASA ,LMFT or LMFTA with 1+ year clinical experience in child mental health.

  • DAY TREATMENT QP - MARION, NC
    • A Caring Alternative is seeking a  Qualified Professional to provide intensive therapeutic services in a Day Treatment program within the McDowell County School System in Marion, NC.
    • Required Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or closely related human services field and two (2) years of experience working as a direct support professional with the child population.
