​A Caring Alternative, LLC is a nationally CARF accredited service provider with facilities in Morganton, Marion and Asheville, NC. We provide an array services to Alexander, Buncombe, Burke, Catawba, Caldwell, and McDowell Counties, which consist of Assisted Family Living, Assertive Community Treatment Team, Community Support Team, Day Treatment, Integrated Care, Intensive In-Home, Medication Management, Outpatient Therapy, and Therapeutic Foster Care. We are CARF accredited and CABHA certified.

OUTPATIENT THERAPY TEAM LEAD - MARION, NC

  • A Caring Alternative is seeking a licensed professional to serve as an Outpatient Therapist Team Lead in Marion, NC. This position is expected to provide intensive clinical therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults with identified mental health or substance abuse diagnosis. In addition to providing those services, this individual will be oversee the day to day operations of team members and serve as a resource for those member

  • A Caring Alternative is seeking a Qualified or Associate Professional to serve as a member of an ACT Team in Morganton, North Carolina. The Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) is a service provided by an interdisciplinary team that ensures and is prepared to carry out a full range of treatment functions wherever and whenever needed. The goal for ACT is to eliminate or reduce the symptoms of severe mental illness and to enhance the individual’s quality of life. The purpose of this position is to serve as a therapeutic resource to consumers of A Caring Alternative in compliance with agency standards and best practices.

  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Work or closely related Human Services area and 1 year of professional work experience. If QP, two years of professional work experience. 

TRANSITION MANAGEMENT QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL - MORGANTON, NC

  • A Caring Alternative is seeking a qualified professional to work as a part of the Transition Management team in Morganton, North Carolina. Transition Management focuses on increasing an individual’s ability to live as independently as possible, managing the illness, and reestablishing his or her community roles related to the following life domains: emotional, social, safety, housing, medical and health, educational, vocational, and legal.

  • Seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to work as a member of an Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Hickory, North Carolina. ACTT is a team dedicated to reducing and eliminating the symptoms of severe mental illness and to enhance the individual's quality of life.

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in Psychology, Social Work, or closely related Human Services area and 2 years of adult mental health experience. Must have licensure as LCAS, LCASA, or CSAC.​​

ACTT PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST - HICKORY, NC

ACTT EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST - HICKORY, NC

  • A Caring Alternative is seeking an Employment Specialist for a new Assertive Community Treatment Team forming in Hickory, NC that will serve clients in Catawba and Iredell Counties. The employment specialist provides supported employment and education services to individuals served by the ACT Team, including engagement, vocational assessment, job development, job coaching, and follow-along supports as well as benefits counseling.

  • Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Human Services, Social Work, Special Education, or other closely related Human Services area and two (2) years of professional experience with the adult mental health population. Preference for at least 1 year of experience providing employment services or advanced education that involved field training in vocational services.

CST TEAM LEAD - BOONE, NC

  • A Caring Alternative is seeking a Community Support Team (CST) Team Lead in Boone, North Carolina. This service consists of community-based mental health and substance use services, and structured rehabilitative interventions intended to increase and restore an individual’s ability to live successfully in the community.

  • Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, or realted field. Licensed clinician who has at least one-year experience with the adult mental health population. Peer Support Specialist (Morganton, NC)

Seeking several Certified Peer Supports to provide various services to the adult mental health population. Experience with the population served is preferred as well as a working knowledge of the resources available within the local communities. Must be certified. 
 

Provisional and Licensed Clinicians

  • Seeking individuals who are licensed or provisionally licensed with LPC, LCAS, LCSW, LMFT to work within a variety of services such as ACTT, OPT, and SCHOOL BASED PROGRAMS. Individuals would work in collaberation with their teams to provide exceptional care to consumers and their families.​

Therapeutic Foster Care Parents (Morganton/Marion/Lenoir, NC)​

  • Seeking individuals licensed or interested in becoming licensed in order to provide Therapeutic Foster Care within their home.  Individuals must be 21 years or older and have GED/High School Diploma. All TFC Parents must have a desire and commitment to help provide a loving home environment. A Caring Alternative will assist with the necessary support & supervision so that the home will be successful in providing a stabilized environment to the child(ren). We will provide the required MAPP course to qualified applicants in addition to other helpful trainings.
