​A Caring Alternative, LLC is a nationally CARF accredited service provider with facilities in Morganton, Marion and Asheville, NC. We provide an array services to Alexander, Buncombe, Burke, Catawba, Caldwell, and McDowell Counties, which consist of Assisted Family Living, Assertive Community Treatment Team, Community Support Team, Day Treatment, Integrated Care, Intensive In-Home, Medication Management, Outpatient Therapy, and Therapeutic Foster Care. We are CARF accredited and CABHA certified.

RESIDENTIAL COACH - MARION, NC

  • Seeking a full time direct care professional to work as a Residential Coach. Direct care staff help provide caregivers and their children with an extra layer of support by allowing breaks in care. As a Residential Coach, you will provide emotional, physical and daily living care for youths (ages 5-20) with behavioral health needs in a group home setting.

  • Education and Experience Required:                                                  High school diploma or GED is required. Applicants need to be a minimum of 21 years old.  Behavioral health experience is preferred. Must have a strong desire to work with children and adolescents, patience, and the ability to work as part of a team.

OPT TEAM LEAD - MARION, NC

  • A Caring Alternative is seeking a Outpatient Therapy Team Lead in Marion, North Carolina.  This home and community-based service is a combination of best practice outpatient therapy services, monitoring, support and management of care interventions to be provided for individuals with complex clinical needs that traditional outpatient therapy cannot adequately address  A clinician acts as the lead person of an OPT Plus Team serving as a resource to team members and directing the daily functions.

  • Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, or related field. Licensed clinician who has at least one-year experience with the child mental health population. Must be a LCSW/LCSWA, LCMHC/LCMHCA or LMFT/LMFTA

IIH QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL - MARION, NC

  • A Caring Alternative is two Intensive In-Home Team Qualified Professionals  in Marion, North Carolina.  Intensive In-Home is a service for children and teens who need a lot of support in order to stay in their homes. This individual serves as a member of an Intensive In Home Team providing therapeutic services to individuals to stabilize current living arrangements, promote reunification, and prevent out of home therapeutic placements

  • Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Human Services, Social Work, Special Education, or other closely related Human Services area and two (2) years of professional experience with the adult mental health population

MEDICAL RECORDS COORDINATOR - MARION, NC

  • Responsibilities involve making certain that consumer data, authorizations, discharges and admissions are being compiled & updated in various computer programs and organized accurately in compliance with regulations.

CTI PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST

  • A Caring Alternative is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to serve adults as a part of the Critical Time Intervention Team. The role of a CTI Peer Support Specialist is to serve as a mental health and/or co-occurring condition who has been trained and certified to help others with these conditions, as well as identifying and achieving specific life and recovery goals.

ACTT QUALIFIED/ASSOCIATE PROFESSIONAL - MORGANTON, NC

  • A Caring Alternative is seeking a Qualified or Associate Professional to serve as a member of an ACT Team in Morganton, North Carolina. The Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) is a service provided by an interdisciplinary team that ensures and is prepared to carry out a full range of treatment functions wherever and whenever needed. The goal for ACT is to eliminate or reduce the symptoms of severe mental illness and to enhance the individual’s quality of life. The purpose of this position is to serve as a therapeutic resource to consumers of A Caring Alternative in compliance with agency standards and best practices.

  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Work or closely related Human Services area and 1 year of professional work experience. If QP, two years of professional work experience.

Complete physical assessment on consumers receiving medication management and assist psychiatrist and all healthcare professionals caring for patient. Prepare client charts and file accordingly

  • Education and Experience Required:  A High School diploma or equivalent. Must have assisted living experience and long-term care experience. CNA II, CMA or NC Med Tech Certification

CHIEF COMPLIANCE OFFICER - MORGANTON

This position is part of the executive leadership team.

Ensure compliance with all documentation, staff qualifications, and other state, federal, and accrediting body requirements for the services delivered as well as compliance with all applicable state and federal standards

  • Education and experience required: A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Work or closely related Human Services area and two years of professional experience

ACTT SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR -

HICKORY,  NC

  • Seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to work as a member of an Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT). ACTT is a team dedicated to reducing and eliminating the symptoms of severe mental illness and to enhance the individual's quality of life.

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in Psychology, Social Work, or closely related Human Services area and 2 years of adult mental health experience. Must have licensure as LCAS, LCASA, or CSAC.​​

ACTT EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST - HICKORY, NC

  • A Caring Alternative is seeking an Employment Specialist for a new Assertive Community Treatment Team forming in Hickory, NC that will serve clients in Catawba and Iredell Counties. The employment specialist provides supported employment and education services to individuals served by the ACT Team, including engagement, vocational assessment, job development, job coaching, and follow-along supports as well as benefits counseling.

  • Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Human Services, Social Work, Special Education, or other closely related Human Services area and two (2) years of professional experience with the adult mental health population. Preference for at least 1 year of experience providing employment services or advanced education that involved field training in vocational services.

  • Seeking several Certified Peer Specialists to provide various services to the adult mental health population. Experience with the population served is preferred as well as a working knowledge of the resources available within the local communities. Must be certified. 
     

Provisional and Licensed Clinicians

  • Seeking individuals who are licensed or provisionally licensed with LPC, LCAS, LCSW, LMFT to work within a variety of services such as ACTT, OPT, and SCHOOL BASED PROGRAMS. Individuals would work in collaberation with their teams to provide exceptional care to consumers and their families.​

Therapeutic Foster Care Parents (Morganton/Marion/Lenoir, NC)​

  • Seeking individuals licensed or interested in becoming licensed in order to provide Therapeutic Foster Care within their home.  Individuals must be 21 years or older and have GED/High School Diploma. All TFC Parents must have a desire and commitment to help provide a loving home environment. A Caring Alternative will assist with the necessary support & supervision so that the home will be successful in providing a stabilized environment to the child(ren). We will provide the required MAPP course to qualified applicants in addition to other helpful trainings.
